SafeWork NSW is investigating an incident that occurred yesterday near Newcastle on the 23rd August 2018 where a 1st-year apprentice has fallen approximately 7-8 meters through a skylight. The worker was conducting some prep work on a roof and it appears had inadequate fall restraint/protection systems in place. He suffered serious head trauma and suspected fractured pelvis, his injuries are potentially fatal.

There are too many needless incidents involving workers falling from a height. The injuries sustained from this type of incident are extremely serious at best and in a lot of cases can be fatal or end in permanent disability for the victim.
